Bio – Jessica Stella

Jessica Stella (McPhee-Hayes)

Coach Jessica StellaJessica grew up in Portland, OR where she played at Grant High School. She quickly fell in love with the sport her Freshman year of high school and went on to play club for Mt. Hood VBC. Jessica was recruited as a setter by the University of Puget Sound and spent the next four years of her career there setting the first three years and ending her college career as a defensive specialist. Her sophomore year UPS made their first appearance at the NCAA regional tournament. In her senior year UPS tied for 5th in the nation in the NCAA Division III national championship tournament. Jessica found a love for coaching in 2007 while playing at UPS she also coached at University Place Volleyball Club. She has coached club  for 3 years prior to coming to REACH at the U18, U15 and U12 age level. After graduating from UPS she also spent two years assistant coaching at UPS.

The last two years Jessica has focused her time on her new career teaching Humanities at Stewart Middle School in Tacoma and coaching the 8th grade volleyball team there. This will be her third season coaching with REACH and has a passion for developing a love for volleyball in young athletes.
